The winner is...

The results are in! Congratulations to our winner- Pam!!! She lost 12.36% of her body weight and won $252! Second place winner is Melonie who lost 11.62% of her body weight and won $108! Way to go ladies! All together we lost 60 pounds!!

Only THREE weeks left!

Emotional Eating

I admit it! I am an emotional eater. When something happens in life that i have no control or influence over, I eat and eat and eat. How do I switch things around so that instead of emotional eating I can develop emotional exercising?

Date Night = Gain

Tyler and I went out on a date to Texas Roadhouse lastnight-YUM!  I knew that I would have to be good and not eat too many of their tasty warm scones with honey butter or else I would for sure end up with a gain for this week.  I ended up eating 2 scones, but I thought I might be okay because I only ate half of my meal.....and I was good and ordered chicken.

Well- after weighing in this morning, I have come to the conclustion that you can't eat out at Texas Roadhouse and expect to not have a weight gain the next morning no matter how much (or little) you eat there!  On the other hand, you can expect to have a great time with your husband and I think that makes the small gain worth it :-)

Temptation!

I just realized that my last post was about chocolate too!  Anyway-  Tyler made some of his delicious Brownies for our treat yesterday (Sunday is our treat day).  After we got the 2 youngest boys in bed we had Brownies and Ice-cream. YUM!!  Our 2 older boys are in California for Spring Break, so without them here there was almost a whole pan of Brownies left........AND THEY'VE BEEN TEMPTING ME ALL DAY TODAY!!!  I am proud to say that I've made it thus far without giving in!  Yay!  I've been trying to stay busy and to sanck on healthy things instead.  My goal is to make it until Family Home Evening without any brownies, and then to have one with the rest of the family for our treat.  I think the key for me is to just have ONE!  Most of the time I end up having TWO or THREE because they taste so yummy, but I just need to remind myself to slow down and enjoy it!

Mini Cadbury Eggs

When you start eating these little morsels of goodness, it is so hard to stop!  They taste sooooo good and they are usually a really BIG weakness of mine.  The other night I went to a craft/scrap night at a friends' house and someone brought 2 bags of Cadbury Eggs to share.  At first I thought to myself-  I can have a few and it won't really make that big of a difference, right?  Well, I decided to try and not have ANY.  I just snacked on the carrots and low-fat dip that I brought and the salsa and tortilla chips that were there.  And guess what?  I made it through the night without eating ONE SINGLE EGG!!!!  I was so proud of myself and I think it paid off because I thought for sure that I was going to gain this week, but I ended up losing a pound!  Yay!! 

Moral of the story:  Be strong in the presence of temptation and it will pay off!

How's it going?

Just curious about how everyone's doing?  We've had some sort of respiratory bug going around our house so it's been hard to get workouts in this week.  Any suggestions on how to get motivated when you may not be feeling energized?
